UN NEWS UPDATE
URGENT
Dear media colleague,
With reference to our feed yesterday containing the Security Council resolution 1397 text, it has come to our attention that some media have translated the following sentence in the text “Recalling all its previous relevant resolutions, in particular resolutions 242 (1967) and 338 (1973)” as: the Security Council is cancelling/nullifying these resolutions!
This is note the case!
The word “Recalling” in a United Nations Security Council resolution means “remembering/bringing back to mind”!
Please correct where and if possible.
Thanks and regards.
