Den 23. oktober 2006 blev det st\u00e6rkt h\u00f8jreorienterede israelske parti, Israeli Beiteinu, en del af den israelske regering. Partiet ledes af ultra-facisten Avigdor Liebermann, der bl.a. g\u00e5r ind for en total etnisk udrensning af alle pal\u00e6stinensere fra Israel \u2013 mere ned 1 million statsborgere. Israel Beiteinu\u2019s Political Position on Settlements, Peace Negotiations and Jerusalem<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Party Platform: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest demographic threat that Israel faces in the near future stems from the intermingling of the daily lives of Judea and Samaria [Jews] and its approximately two million Arabs. This population in part (although not in all) negates the purpose and character of Israel as a Jewish state. It brought about continuing and painful friction between the two different populations\u2026. Only the separation of Israel from the Arabs of Judea and Samaria and the majority of Muslim Arabs in the country will prevent this irreversible process.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe state of Israel will work hard towards [defining] its external borders, and the boundaries will be determined in agreement following negotiations between Israel and its neighbors\u2026. It is unacceptable to reach a transitional phase where there is neither war nor peace. The Palestinian strategy is unacceptable. A swift and clear decision must be made\u2026. The plan must be acceptable to at least two of four international bodies: the United States, Russia, the United Nations and the European Union, as well as Egypt and Jordan, even if their agreement will be in implicit, and of course based on agreement with the Palestinians.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Withdrawal and Unilateralism: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t believe in coexistence. Coexistence in the sense of the classic left, that we can live here together as friends and neighbors \u2013 is an old wives\u2019 tale. I don\u2019t blame the Arabs. Thus far, anyone who has linked their fate with ours has lost. Bashir Jemayel was assassinated; Anwar Sadat was assassinated. They saw how we fled from Lebanon. We lost the whole element of deterrence. They interpret our flight from Gaza and from Gush Katif very clearly. It is weakness; it is an act of capitulation.\u201d (Avigdor Lieberman, Ha\u2019aretz, March 14, 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Settlements: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, all these areas are part of the state of Israel. It is very important to expand construction in Ma\u2019ale Adumim and to build up the E1 area. (Party spokeswoman Esterina Tartman, Kol Ha\u2019Zeman, March 24, 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cMy solution consists of two parts: One, I would forfeit all of the settlements on the seam between us and the Palestinian Authority \u2013 Umm al-Fahm, Bahan Baka al-Garbiyeh, Taibeh \u2013 and exchange them with Jewish settlements such as Ma\u2019aleh Adumim and Gush Etzion. The second part is a new citizenship law, according to which before the individual receives an identity card, he will sign a declaration of loyalty to the State of Israel as a Zionist Jewish state, to the flag, to the national anthem, to the Declaration of Independence, and commit to performing military service or alternative service.\u201d (Avigdor Lieberman, Ha\u2019aretz, March 14, 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Jerusalem: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery Jew and Zionist has an obligation to ensure that Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, is safe and complete, and there is no need to compromise [the city]. The daily friction and demographic threat relates also to metropolitan Jerusalem, which is under legitimate threat of losing its Jewish majority.\u201d (Party platform)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cIsrael Beiteinu, like most parties, recognizes Jerusalem as the eternal united capital of Israel. We will not compromise on the holy sites, but I am prepared to give up on the Arab population in Jerusalem. We want to preserve the demographic balance in the city, and we have no problem therefore to carve out places like Jabel Mukhaber, where a jewish foot has not landed in years.\u201d (Party spokeswoman Esterina Tartman, Kol Ha\u2019Zeman, March 24, 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cAll Jewish neighborhoods such as Neve Yaakov, Pizgat Ze\u2019ev, East Talpiot, Gilo, and so forth, will remain in the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem and under complete Israeli control. As such, neighborhoods like Jabel Mukhaber, a-Ram, and others will be handed over to Palestinian control.\u201d (Party platform) <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe evacuation of settlements adjacent to Jerusalem will bring attempts at firing mortar shells on populated areas in Jerusalem, on government offices and the Knesset. That is what happened to towns adjacent to Gaza and that is what will happen to Jerusalem.” (Avigdor Lieberman, March 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Outposts: <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“As one of the five conditions set forth by Lieberman in a letter to Knesset speaker Dalia Itzik, Lieberman required \u201crevoking the orders to destroy illegal outposts\u201d before joining the coalition. In response, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told reporters: “Destroying the outposts is on the government’s agenda and Lieberman must come to terms with that.” (Arutz 7, Israel Beiteinu website)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On a Palestinian State:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI did not say that I agree to the formation of a Palestinian state. I spoke of a Palestinian authority. I am only interested in the Jewish state. If they want to create a Palestinian state in their area — let them.\u201d (Yediot Aharonot, February 24, 2006)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
